In January 2018, Alexis and Courtney locked themselves in a room and birthed a training. Taking everything they knew about trauma and birth, they created a four-hour training designed to engage birth workers on how to work with families through a trauma-informed lens.
Our training, Trauma Informed Care for Birth and Postpartum Professionals, is designed to provide guidance and tools to perinatal professionals on how to better serve survivor clients through their pregnancy and postpartum and provides tools and techniques to implement into your practice to enhance your ability to serve birthing people experiencing current or past abuse.
In 2020, they expanded their reach by launching Trauma Talk, an education platform created to foster growth for professionals working with new parents and beyond. Their very first online course provides a more thorough version of their introductory in-person trainings and covers :
Trauma 101
Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Assault
Race-Based Trauma
Perinatal Care in the LBGTQIA+ Community
Trauma Echos in Birth & PP
Supportive Responses and Grounding
